The Hamlet Shopping Center in Dover DE has gone through a dramatic building façade renovation and lighting improvement plan. Focused on community and merchant safety, significant lighting enhancements have been completed together with security fencing among other security measures. Colorful exterior applications creates appealing and distinct definitions for merchant identity. Located at the intersection of Walker and McKee Roads (a heavily traveled intersection with a signalized corner, three means of access, abundant parking, good signage opportunities and excellent visibility), the shopping center has been a long standing icon in the Dover community. Cementing the building transformation, The Hamlet Shopping Center has been re-named... “The Shoppes at HAMLET”.
The exterior renovations were complete in Spring of 2020 giving the buildings a unique look and defines each space clearly. Renewable fibre-cement plank was employed to preserve the longevity of the look as well as to be good to the environment.
Preserving “Hamlet” was a priority for ownership to respect the identity of the adjacent residential community, and retain local recognition that resonates as familiar. Paired with the façade and lighting improvements has enhanced the appeal of the center dramatically and builds on the other positive development activities in the area.
Community safety is important to ownership. Enhanced exterior LED lighting and attractive light fixtures have been installed which will create a safe and bright environment for everyone. Together with new security fencing guiding pedestrian foot traffic safely to the residential community as well as other security measures creates an environment that’s planned to sustain itself long term.
